Involvement in the Community - Individuals served by DSNWK are involved in the daily fabric of community life. Individuals can choose to participate in a civic organization, attend a ball game, county fair, or get involved in other neighborhood activities.
Providing Health and Safety - Through the implementation of a variety of safety precautions such as; safety drills, alarm systems, and inspections, DSNWK assures that each living environment is safe and healthy.
First Aid and CPR - DSNWK staff are highly trained and educated employees who know how to recognize and provide basic care to individuals served by DSNWK.
Nursing - DSNWK has Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses available for consultation 24 hours a day. In addition, DSNWK has a full time nurse who provides technical assistance to individual teams, as well as education and training to direct service staff.
Owning A Home - Through two grants funded by the Kansas Housing Resources Commission, very low income residents, including those with disabilities, can qualify to purchase their own home and receive assistance based on their family's income.

Customer Connection - DSNWK has a toll-free 800 number available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for DSNWK's staff and parents. Customer Connection allows individuals to reach on-call staff, ask questions or voice concerns.
Teaching Programs - Through the life planning process, teaching programs are developed for individuals served with goals and objectives to obtain the skills needed to live more independently.
Transportation - Transportation is available to person's who receive services from DSNWK for all routine trips.
Quality Oversite - DSNWK's Quality Management Systems monitor conformance to State licensing expectations, rules, regulations, and national accreditation standards, ensuring continuity, professionalism and a person-centered approach.
