ACCESS Receives Benefit from ARRA Funds
ACCESS Transportation has received a replacement vehicle via American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding. The vehicle was received the afternoon of Wednesday August 12, 2009 and is in the process of being inspected and accepted. The vehicle will be included with the fleet of ten “rural public transportation” vehicles ACCESS operates via an agreement with the City of Hays and Ellis County Commission in conjuction with the Kansas Department of Transportation (Office of Public Transportation) and the Federal Transit Administration.
The capital cost of this vehicle will be 100% ARRA funds, hence there will be no local cost involved. The operational costs will remain the same as is with the other nine ACCESS vehicles; fifty percent federal funds, twenty percent state of Kansas funds and thirty percent local funds (City of Hays and Ellis County).
