Kid Link - How The Program Works

Referral
Referrals may come from any concerned individual or agency. Any person, including a parent, may refer a child. A child may be referred for any possible concern.

Evaluation
After a referral is made, a full comprehensive evaluation is completed by qualified staff. A child's skills are tested in the areas of fine and gross motor development, cognitive skills, language skills, and social skills to determine a child's present level of functioning.

Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
If the evaluation results indicate a child's skills are 25% delayed in one area or 20% delayed in two or more areas, or professional opinion indicates a need, the child may receive Kid-Link services, with parental consent. An IFSP will be developed by the parents and professional team to meet the needs of the child and the family. The child's and family's strengths, concerns, priorities, and resources will be addressed at the time of the IFSP meeting, and the team will determine what service will best meet the identified needs.
