Many of the individuals served by Developmental Services have serious medical needs, as well as require constant nursing attention as they grow older. DSNWK has a specialized home for individuals who are medically fragile and in need of twenty-four hour medical support services and assistance. DSNWK focuses on providing the highest in quality care by enhancing services for those individuals who are aging or medically fragile. DSNWK has Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses available for consultation 24 hours a day.
In addition, DSNWK, has an Education and Training Specialist who is a certified nurse available to provide assistance and training to direct service staff and has developed training in a variety of medical areas. Current class offerings include Medication Administration, Medication Administration Recertification, Healthcare, and other medically related topics.
