| CARF utilized six surveyors to review DSNWK over a three day period. The surveyors came from all over the country and reviewed DSNWK’s programs and services including Employment, Residential, Respite, Family, and Community Integration. The Accreditation Commission seal of approval for our programs and fully complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, our programs also comply with the provisions of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Pub. Law 93-112) Section 504, Title VII and Title XIX of the Civil Rights Act. This means that no person shall be excluded from participation, denied any benefits, or subjected to any form of discrimination because of his or her race, religion, color, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, handicap, or political affiliation. DSNWK is partially funded on a contractual basis by the Kansas State Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, Division of Health Care Policy/Community Supports and Services; Kansas Department of SRS/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); Kansas Department of Aging/ICF/MR; U.S. Department of Education; Rehabilitation Services Administration; and the Kansas Department of Transportation. As required by the Developmental Disabilities Reform Act of 1995, the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services has designated a Community Developmental Disabilities Organization (CDDO) for every area of the state to help coordinate developmental disability services and programs. Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas is the CDDO for the eighteen counties served in Northwest Kansas.
