Access Van

Safety

Your Safety is our concern. For that reason, all individuals riding ACCESS are required to occupy a seat and utilize the seat belts. All riders will remain seated when the vehicle is in motion and remain so until the vehicle comes to a complete stop.

Transporting Children

All children under the age of fourteen must be accompanied by an adult. Children four and younger must ride in a car seat. ACCESS does not provide a car seat. If you need one, you will need to supply it yourself. Due to space restrictions on the van, you cannot leave the car seat on the van.

Waiting For Passengers

Due to time constraints, the van will only wait for a passenger for five (5) minutes. Also, due to differences in clock time, we ask that you be prepared to leave ahead of your scheduled time. If you are scheduled for a pickup time and do not keep it (no show), you will be charged for that ride as if you took it (it costs us time to keep our schedule).

Packages

You are allowed to bring personal packages onto the van, but they must be kept in your possession at all times. The driver can assist you with getting on and off the van with your packages.

Assistance

If you require assistance, we will allow an individual to make the trip with you and will not charge that individual for the trip. However, that individual is expected to be a working assistant.

Wheelchair Lifts/Van Operation

No individual other than the driver is allowed to operate any controls on the van. This includes operating the lift, tie-downs, air conditioning, heat, or lights. Most lifts can be used to assist you to enter the van, however, please notify the dispatcher when making the appointment if you feel this is a necessity. You will need to be able to keep your balance and hold on to the hand rail for your safety.

Smoking

If you are an individual who smokes, you will not be allowed to smoke on any of ACCESS’s vehicles.

Bad Weather

Inclement weather may curtail or alter operations of ACCESS. Please check with the dispatcher for schedule modifications during inclement weather.
